Registration is closed for this event
Children will make a candle to join the worldwide movement "Zapaly Svichku" - Light a Candle, on November 28, 2020 to remember the victims of the Holodomor.

“Zapaly Svichku” (“Light a Candle” in English) is a worldwide movement, held on the 4th Saturday of November to remember the victims of the man-made Famine (Holodmor) in Ukraine of 1932-33. This year the date is November 28, 2020.

In this workshop students will make a candle craft while also learning about the Holodomor in Ukraine. They can “light” their candle alongside thousands of others who are remembering the Holodomor every year in November.

Suitable for grade school aged children. Seating is limited to 12 participants.

Taught by Oksana Pasakas, UHEC Education Programs Coordinator.

You must purchase your own supplies for this workshop.
