You may have noticed that this site was offline on the morning and early afternoon of Wednesday, October 21 (North America Eastern Time). This was a safety measure ahead of the scheduled release of information on a critical security vulnerability in the PHP scripting language that is used on several of our web properties. Since we were not able to immediately install the updates that fix this vulnerability, we took some of our websites offline before the scheduled release time out of an abundance of caution.
We have since installed the updates on the server that runs this site, so it is now secure. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to update our online exhibits site (scalar.UkrHEC.org), so it remains offline (you will see a "Bad Gateway" error). We will restore access as soon as we are able.
